On July 16th, Chez STADM will open for Max Dalglish’s first exhibition show. Featuring works from the past year that offer a glimpse into the mind of Dalglish.
RSVPABOUT MAX DALGLISH
Max Dalglish was raised in the in-between—somewhere between grit and beauty, chaos and intention. A Bowery kid, born into a lineage of artists and storytellers, Max didn’t find art so much as he inherited it. His father, James Dalglish, an award-winning abstract painter recognized with the Jackson Pollock Award, lived and breathed creation.
James’ world—and by extension Max’s—was deeply rooted in the East Village art collectives of the 1980s, where experimentation wasn’t a style, it was survival. Max grew up surrounded by people who didn’t just make art; they needed to make it. That urgency stayed with him.
